Cappadocia University Continuing Education Center offers training modules specifically tailored to the sector, region and business in order to contribute to the sustainability transformation of tourism businesses in Turkey. The training contents are shaped according to the expectations and needs of tourism professionals working in all levels and titles; they can be adapted to different profiles such as managers, technical-administrative personnel, quality managers.
These modules provide comprehensive information including technical details in areas such as sustainable tourism management, Sustainability Management System (SMS), tourism for all, cultural heritage, social impacts, environmental management, energy and water use, waste management. At the end of the trainings, participants are given a certificate of participation. In this way, accommodation businesses can prepare more effectively for sustainability certification processes such as Green Key, Travelife, GSTC-I and Green & Safe (TR-I ), which are valid at national and international level.
GSTC approved trainings:
The University of Cappadocia is the only academic institution in Turkey that provides Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) GSTC certified trainings. As an institutional member of the GSTC since 2021, the university offers professional education programs with international validity in the field of sustainability.
GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training (STTP) is designed for destinations and businesses to take effective steps in sustainable tourism practices. In this three-day training, best practice examples, case analysis and performance management are dealt with based on the GSTC Criteria. At the end of the training, the Professional Sustainable Tourism Certificate is awarded with an optional exam.
The GSTC Sustainable Hotel Course offers a two-day interactive and hands-on training for hospitality industry executives and professionals. In this training, sustainability management, identification of KPIs, monitoring and reporting processes are covered; participants are presented with the GSTC Certificate of Participation.
